Going 49th (conveniently) to the San Francisco 49ers, is FS Taylor Mays out of USC. Surprised when passed over by ex-head coach Pete Carroll of the Seattle Seahawks, Mays still goes north, to Mike Singletary & the Niners. Already a beefed up Offense, this is a nice pick-up for San Francisco, especially so far into the draft.
Love this pick. It’s important to note that Chris Berman chose a Willie Mays reference rather than a Ronnie Lott reference when he talked about this pick. He also considered saying, “A Taylor-made pick,” “A-Mays-ing he fell this far,” and “Another Trojan ‘war’ a 49ers uniform, and he made a ‘Lott’ of big plays.”
As we prepare for Round Two of the NFL Draft, let’s remember the 1981 Draft, when Lawrence Taylor was selected #2, and celebrated by downing 41 Coors Lights. In your face, Boggs!
Jimmy Clausen is a real asshole.
Bradford getting picked first by St. Louis is like the world’s best altar boy getting drafted by the Vatican. Sure, it’s an honor, but you know his ass is getting pounded.
