Sac-Town is T-Mac Town: Kings swap Martin for McGrady
The Rockets got sick of negotiating with the Knicks over draft picks and lottery protection, so they went ahead and swapped T-Mac to Sacramento for Kevin Martin instead. The specifics:
To Sacramento:
- Tracy McGrady
- Carl Landry
- Joey Dorsey
To Houston:
- Kevin Martin
- Kenny Thomas (expiring)
- Hilton Armstrong (expiring)
- Sergio Rodriguez (expiring)
Houston gets a very good offensive two-guard who should immediately become the focal point of their offense, and the peripheral point of their defense. They lose Landry, but apparently still hope to finagle something from the Knicks by pulling them into a three-team deal (presumably with Sergio as the carrot). As for Sacramento, they’re either trying to make their own T-Mac swap with the Knicks to get draft picks/Jordan Hill (if they take Jared Jeffries), and clearing space for the 2012 off-season/Mayan apocalypse. Is Geoff Petrie still running the Kings, or is it Roland Emmerich?
