Congratulations to Josh Reddick of the Oakland A’s for winning a Gold Glove. Reddick finished the year with 15 assists and was part of a highlight-reel outfield that also included Coco Crisp scaling walls to steal home runs and Yoenis Cespedes gunning down runners. With Chris Young added to the mix, the A’s are going to have one of the top defensive outfields - and easily the best-fielding DH - in the majors.
Reddick exceeded all expectations at the plate, in the field, and in bacon deliveries to fans. This prize will look great on the wall next to his championship belt, but my only concerns is this: Does a Gold Glove get ruined if you’re constantly filling it with whipped cream and smashing in your teammates’ faces?
