Lincecum busted for marijuana possession
Giants ace, Cy Young candidate, and Washington native Tim Lincecum got pulled over for doing 74 in a 60 MPH zone, at which point officers confiscated a little over three grams of weed, plus a pipe. The story claims that the officers smelled weed, but I think they probably searched the car because they didn’t believe Lincecum was old enough to drive.
While you might guess Lincecum was a recreational pot user from his laid-back attitude, long hair, and the fact that he grew up in Bellevue, Washington, I still would have bet on Barry Zito as the Giants pitcher most likely to get busted with weed. Lincecum is facing a $122 speeding ticket, a small fine for the weed, and a lot of teasing in the Giants clubhouse.
